Student are encouraged to apply one year prior to the term they wish to attend Southern. The priority deadline for freshmen applications for Fall 2009 is May 1, 2009.
To be considered for admission, freshmen applicants must submit:

$30 non-refundable Application Fee.
Application fee waivers are available to students who meet certain income requirements. See your high school or community college guidance counselor for information.
Current official transcripts from each high school and/or college attended.
All transcripts must be in an official sealed envelope and issued within the last 30 days.

A final high school transcript (in an official sealed envelope) will be required upon graduation and completion of all high school course work.
An official copy of ACT or SAT scores.
SIUC does not require essays or letters of recommendation.
